A brief overview
The Local Leaders of the 21st Century is a high school club created by the Go Green Initiative. It is currently at Amador Valley High School and Foothill High School. We have opportunities for students interested in all parts of environmentalism, including public policy, journalism, social media, business, design, and working with younger students. Students have the opportunity to earn both scholarships and community service hours for graduation.
What we've done
We've made numerous contributions to our campus, including:
- Three-Bin waste system
- Solar panels for our parking lot
- Vegetarian lunch options
- New recycling bins for our teachers
- Hand dryers in the bathrooms
In addition to our on campus work, we've worked hard to make our town more sustainable too:
- Creek Cleanups
- Youth outreach at local elementary schools
- Public Policy meetings
- Donation drives
We are also active on our social media pages! Check us out in the contact section down below.
