Shrika KulkarniPresidentShrika Kulkarni is the President of Local Leaders for the 2023-2024 school year. She joined Local Leaders her freshman year because of her interests in climate change and how she could possibly do her part and spread awareness. She became a member of the Journalism small group as a writer and wrote three articles for the Green Issue, LLC’s official newsletter. She continued in her sophomore year as part of the Media Outreach small group, where she enjoyed making instagram posts, educational videos, and working with her peers. As a junior, she co-headed the Journalism & Media small group with Ella Jeon. This year she will be co-heading the Policy Advocacy small group with Vedha Vora. Outside of school, Shrika enjoys writing, drawing, and playing the flute and piccolo. She can’t wait to help the club grow this year! |
Ella JeonVice PresidentElla Jeon is a junior and the Vice President of Local Leaders for the 2023-2024 school year. She was first introduced to Local Leaders in her freshman year and stayed for the people, social environment, and dedication towards climate change and making a difference in the local environment and beyond. She was a member of the Media Outreach team for a year before going on to co-lead the small group, working on making awareness posts, media, and videos to promote green habits and knowledge. This year, as an officer, Ella will be working with Shrika to manage the club and co-lead Media Outreach with Fiona. In her free time, she loves to listen to music, read books, and loves cross country. Her favorite artists are Playboi Carti, Tory Lanez, and Steve Lacy. She is looking forward to a new year with Local Leaders! |
Ellie KimTreasurerEllie Kim (‘25) is the treasurer for Amador Local Leaders for the school year of 2023-2024. She has always been interested in recycling and sustainability and is eager to be a club officer to help make the world a cleaner space through Amador. She has been on the Fundraising team since her Sophomore year and has helped create and design tote bags and t-shirts. She is excited to state that she will be co-leading the fundraising team alongside Eileen Kim. She has always had a passion for combining her favorite hobby, art, and marketing to find innovative ways to create funds for Local Leaders. She actively seeks funding opportunities, grants, and sponsorships to support the club's endeavors, and is super excited to share her new ideas for raising money for the club. She hopes to improve and learn more about leading the world to be a better place, and she can’t wait to help lead the club for the 2023-2024 school year. |
Eileen KimSecretaryMeet Eileen Kim, our Local Leader’s Club secretary, and junior high school student for the 2023-2024 school year. Passionate about sustainability and making a positive impact, Eileen ensures efficient communication and coordination within our club. While she may be relatively new to the world of sustainability, Eileen’s eagerness to learn continues to grow. Eileen hopes to bring invaluable experience and a drive for success to our club by being involved in leadership since middle school. She has been on the fundraising team during her first year and is excited to lead the club with our club’s treasurer this year. Eileen has started to pursue her career with drawing, which allowed her to express herself creatively for 5 years (and to be continued). When she's not working hard in the team, you'll find her having a blast with friends, and exploring the outdoors. Eileen is thrilled to meet and get to know our members better in the upcoming year. |
Fiona ZhengCommunications & OutreachFiona Zheng is the officer of Communications and Outreach for the 2023-2024 school year! Currently a senior, she first joined Local Leaders as a freshman to try something new and learn about her role in the environment. She started out in the Video Media small group and loved working with other members of the club to make creative projects. She continued the next year with Youth Outreach and helped with creating lesson plans and teaching students about sorting trash at Fairlands elementary. In her junior year, she joined Policy Advocacy and worked with other members to advertise to food businesses about sustainable practices. With her favorite small group she spent time with being Video Media, Fiona plans to lead the Media Outreach small group this year while also creating posts for the club’s followers + viewers. When she’s not in school, she’s trying to survive marching band, watching Modern Family, or learning a new dance. She’s excited to see what the club will work on this year! |
Vedha VoraTechnologyVedha Vora is the Technology Officer of Local Leaders for the 2023-2024 school year. As a freshman, Vedha joined Local Leaders due to her passion to spread awareness regarding our environment. Through her passion, she has met many like-minded individuals that share a similar drive to make a positive impact towards ensuring the sustainability of our planet. For the last two years, she has joined the small Green Team small group and has had the opportunity to learn so much from her peers. Within the Green Team group, she was able to take part in initiatives regarding how to make our Amador community sustainable. As a technology officer in our club, I will ensure maximum efficiency in ensuring the sustainability shop and club website are always running as intended. This year, she will be co-heading Policy Advocacy small group with Shrika, our president! In her free time, she enjoys doing martial arts, hanging out with her friends and reading! She can’t wait to meet all the new members and create memories with everyone! |
